The site needed to move beyond a simple "park map" and act as a high-end destination portal that captures the "escape to nature" feeling while providing the utility of a modern booking platform. The Solution: Visual Storytelling & UX I designed and developed the full digital experience with a "mobile-first" philosophy, acknowledging that many travelers book while on the road. By combining high-quality imagery with intuitive navigation, I created a site that simplifies the guest journey from discovery to arrival. Conversion-Focused UX: Optimized the user flow to move guests from site tours and amenity views to reservation inquiries in fewer than three clicks. Localized Content Strategy: Authored all site copy to balance "vacation vibes" with strategic local SEO. The challenge was unique: the client had no existing website, and the brand’s history lived primarily in scattered Facebook posts, oral stories, and decades of physical memorabilia. I was tasked with turning these fragments into a professional memorial, a digital archive, and a revenue-generating storefront. The Solution: Content Synthesis & Brand Building - I served as the author, designer, copywriter, and digital strategist. By extracting "tribal knowledge" from interviews and scouring social media archives, I built a cohesive narrative that honors a legend while serving a modern audience. Content Archeology: I authored the entire site biography and historical copy by synthesizing "fan-lore" and private conversations into a professional, engaging narrative that captures the rugged spirit of Alaska. Legacy E-Commerce: I designed a full-scale online store for music and merchandise, transforming a back-catalog of CDs and hats into a streamlined revenue stream for the estate. Community Hub (Fan Engagement): I created a "By Fans, For Fans" digital archive to house stories and anecdotes, ensuring the site functions as a living tribute rather than just a static page.
